This role is on our "Groups, Creators, and Social" team at Strava, a cross-functional group dedicated to enhancing how athletes connect and interact on our platform. The team collaborates with engineers from all of Strava’s technical areas—iOS, Android, Web, and Server—as well as with diverse partners to develop engaging, athlete-facing features. We are pivotal in creating and managing major tools and services such as messaging, posts, video, photos, and clubs that define the social fabric of Strava. Additionally, we play a crucial role in advancing our technical vision and transitioning to cutting-edge technologies, ensuring a world-class experience for our community of athletes.

You will be successful here by:

• Demonstrating empathy for athletes and their experience while using Strava
• Taking ownership of your work, and partnering with cross-functional peers to ensure services are properly scoped and implemented.
• Building well-documented and easy-to-use systems that are quickly and widely adopted across our engineering organization.
• Contributing to an inclusive and collaborative team culture
• Building beautiful, smooth, delightful mobile experiences.
• Mentoring other engineers and providing technical leadership to the team through forums like tech talks.
• Using your in-depth knowledge of all things iOS to help drive technical conversations with peers from different backgrounds, across different teams.
• Be willing to explore and learn new technologies outside of your comfort zone

• Have experience building iOS applications in a production environment using Swift.
• Stay up to date and experiment with the latest iOS technologies.

• Enjoy working on mobile apps at all levels – from networking up to user interfaces and everything in between.
• Have experience building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and unit testing techniques.
• Can collaborate with iOS, Android, and Server engineers in order to ship features.
