Opportunity Overview
The Nextest Division of Teradyne, located in San Jose CA is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineering intern to join the team. The intern will need to work on-site at our San Jose, CA office. 

 

• Assist in various areas of product development cycle; concept, design, analysis, documentation, and prototype assembly of mechanical systems, tooling and fixtures
• Gain experience in areas of sheet metal packaging, mechanisms, pneumatic and electronic controls systems

• Mechanical Engineering student (minimum) or equivalent 

• Minimum 3.5 GPA in relevant engineering coursework 
• 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred) 
• Experience with electromechanical design and assembly 
• Microcontroller programming, example Arduino or eq. 
• 3D printing 
• Experience with building mechanical assemblies using basic hand tools 
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written) 
• This is an on-site position (not remote), located in San Jose, CA. 
• Team leadership skills and experience 
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques (machining, sheet metal forming, injection molding, etc.) 
• Safe working knowledge of AC power and wiring 
• Experience with electronics and control systems.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is $58,240-$85,800. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
