The opportunity
The VP, Global Medical Affairs - Medical Engagement position will embrace enterprise leadership: with the business mindset to push the boundaries of clinical practice, by bringing value to the healthcare ecosystem, with the primary focus to deliver better patient outcomes. Bring together the scientific communications across a variety of disciplines internal and externally including but not limited to R&D, Commercial, Operations, Patients, Payors, HCPs, and Government Affairs officials.
Job Overview:
- Strategic alignment, coordination of medical, patient, payors, and other relevant stakeholders, to deliver win-win partnerships; Through excellence in execution of engagement activities across the Teva enterprise with external stakeholders
- Early engagement with external expert aligning across priority clinical development programs, strategical developing trial recruitment and launch activities. Leveraging a focused technology strategy bringing solutions and enablement of capabilities for impact measurement; incorporating AI insights and integration back into the strategy.
- Patient Engagement and Advocacy, ensuring accountability and coordination of patient strategies, evidence generations, as well as including partnering, digital solutions and enablement in areas such as crowd sourcing social media feeds to gain insights.
- Payor Engagement, strategic point of contact in alignment with HEOR, RWE and Access to ensure optimal capture of evidentiary needs generating value to understand economic impact of future assets on the health care system, bringing a populational based approach where possible to show maximal benefit.
- Connected Health/Partnerships working across the company connecting academic, government and innovative technology partnerships to align across Teva strategic imperatives driving innovation evidence outcomes to better characterize disease outcomes
Key Responsibilities:
- Broadening medical engagement with key stakeholder to include Patients, Payors, HCPs, Government Affairs officials and other industry (pharma and non-pharm) innovators.
- Strategically coordinate, plan and execute throughout the organization optimizing partnering/consultancy/advisory opportunities
- Building the foundation for data-backed engagement:
- Leverage external insight and data driven analytics to deliver the optimal engagement strategy for each respective stakeholder, through a coordination of a personalize channel mix of people and digital tools.
- Creating new platforms/formats to deliver end to end medical and scientific educations that engages the external stakeholder.
- Coordinate GenAI technology to gain momentum to leverage using publications, trial data, and existing medical content to instantaneously develop new audio, image, text, simulation, and video content.
- Develop coordinate stakeholder engagement maps tailored by geography, scientific activities, network connectivity, and by specific stakeholder characteristic view.
- End to end medical communication strategy to accelerate and amplify messages.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Required: M.D., Ph.D., Pharm D. or similar medical qualification.
- 10-12+ years of medical affairs experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech setting
- Strong track-record in immunology and neuroscience with established network of relationships among the global community
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate that strategy into an actionable work plan.
- Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills and proven success working in a matrixed team-based environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to identify and understand complex issues and problems; ability to identify and query key findings from study data and publications.
