What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Lead Material Cost Controlling activities for serial production, including variance analysis, forecasting and cost optimization initiatives across the manufacturing operations
- Own planning and tracking of serial material cost performance (including standard cost updates, index changes and actual vs. planned cost deviations)
- Act as subject matter expert in serial cost controlling topics (inclusive of finance expert into related IT systems)
- Lead and develop robust business cases (e.g., insourcing, lease vs. buy, make or buy) to support strategic initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and Finance teams to drive alignment towards long-term financial targets
- Develop and refining planning assumptions and cost drivers to be used in modeling for forecasting, budgeting and strategic planning models
- Identify and report cost saving opportunities across operational and strategic initiatives
- Prepare clear and concise financial presentations for decision-making committees and milestone reviews
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the Long-Range Planning and annual budget creation for Manufacturing Operations
- Ensure accuracy and data integrity for financial inputs into business cases and various financial models
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as assigned by management
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, South Carolina.
- The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of Finance or other related field (such as Project Steering, Engineering, Purchasing, Production)
- Preferred experience in Material Cost Controlling/Manufacturing Cost Controlling
- Demonstrated knowledge of material cost controlling processes and procedures
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes and technology (Automotive Manufacturing preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing complex business cases
- Prior experience in SAP (S/4Hanna) or similar ERP systems
- Ability to synthesize, analyze and communicate financial data clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, scenario analysis and macro development
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for executive-level presentation
