Lead Lighting Technician, Theater Entertainment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leads the lighting operations for the theater. Ensure standards and procedures are adhered to and communicate any concerns to department management.
2. Tests and resolve equipment issues. Performs the load-in of band equipment and rental equipment. Set up breakdown band and event equipment in the direction of the Production management team.
3. Oversee and operates lighting control boards and programming. Focuses lighting and makes adjustments to artist and tour specifications.
4. Create and distribute lighting plot plans. Ensure event lighting needs are scheduled and met.
5. Performs all necessary maintenance and repairs of all equipment and expedites issues as necessary to appropriate service vendors. Develop preventative maintenance programs and procedures.
6. Assists with production throughout the event as needed. Assists the technical advance with artist’s representatives. Communicate with the production manager to determine tour audio needs.
7. Diagnose lighting system issues and IT problems and provides alternative solutions if needed to maintain production deadlines.
8. Maintains software updates on all lighting equipment throughout the theater and inside the control room.
9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
Minimum four (4) years’ experience with live entertainment performance lighting is required.
Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
Previous experience as an LD level lighting programmer is required.
Musical touring and electrical experience preferred.
Must know DMX addressing 3 pin and/or 5 pin.
Must have hands on vast knowledge of lighting systems, video distribution, digital equipment and audio integration systems.
Must possess advanced troubleshooting skills with lighting systems, including Intelligent Lighting and Show Control, GrandMA2 and GrandMA3. Moving light fixtures, Crestron, and Lutron is required.
Must be proficient with sACN and Art-Net protocols.
Experience with Vectorworks software preferred.
Must have manual dexterity, technical acumen. An excellent eye for image quality is required.
Experience in troubleshooting fiber and Ethernet networks.
Must possess advanced knowledge of lighting software and integration, including Grand MA on PC, Stream Deck, Black magic and Resolume.
Must have knowledge and experience safely connecting/disconnecting 3-phase power distribution.
Must be a strong self-starter who is able to set priorities under pressure of deadlines and maintain the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Must have exceptional customer service skills and possess a strong ability to lead and build teams.
Must be proficient in both Mac and PC platforms. Must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365.
Must possess the ability to learn and thoroughly understand current and new technical systems. Must be able to read and understand technical materials.
Must possess the ability to understand, synthesize, and troubleshoot large complex lighting systems.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Professional certification in lighting technology is preferred.
Certification/training in Grand MA consoles required.
Certification/training in various moving lights strongly preferred.
