Job Details:

Purpose

The Communications Coordinator will work closely with a marketing coordination function to assess the impact of the communications and enable continuous improvement of communication outcomes. Ensures that the communications across all types of media conform to CII and university publishing policies, editorial style, expectations and appropriateness.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation and continuous improvement of communications: Creates, writes, edits, and proofreads multiple types of content. Collaborates with CII's functional areas to gather information and insights for creating accurate and engaging content including the promotion of CII events and initiatives.  Collaborates with researchers and staff to translate complex research findings into accessible and compelling content for both experts and the general public. Creates written material and graphic design

  • Executes and implements an online content strategy to promote research activities, projects, and accomplishments. Provides ongoing content management of CII's website and assist staff and members with troubleshooting website issues. Creates, curates, and publishes captivating content on the website, social media platforms, and other digital platforms. Regularly updates website content to reflect the current research, events, and news to ensure online presence is dynamic, current, relevant, and mission-driven

  • Supports publications from CII research and working groups - collaborates with teams to provide guidance, expectations, and feedback on publication development. Coordinates the production and publication of research reports, whitepapers, and other documents to comply with brand guidelines while maintaining high-quality deliverables. Collaborates with designers, researchers, and editors to create visually pleasing and well-structured documents

  • Manages projects related to CII's communications efforts (developing marketing materials, vendor coordination)

  • Working in collaboration with CII's event manager and Associate Director for Communications and Membership, provides support to promote CII events, disseminates the outcomes of events, and supports communications during events

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or related fields and (7) seven years of relevant work experience.  Proficiency with web-based design applications.  Knowledge of SEO/SEM campaigns and marketing software, CRMs, and content management systems.  Experience with taking complex and highly technical information and transforming it into digestible content.  Demonstrates experience using online communication tools in support of successful website and e-mail campaigns.  Organized, efficient, reliable, and detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative teamwork.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to learn and master new communication formats quickly.  Ability to generate and implement new, creative ideas to communicate CII’s content.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the capital projects or construction industry.  Experience working in a university, educational or research-based organization.  Familiar with Hootsuite and Salesforce.

Salary Range

$70,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions

  • Extended work hours may be required. Some travel may be required
