Position Overview

The Senior Engineering Application Administrator is part of a team of the industry’s best technology professionals supporting Kiewit’s rapidly growing Infrastructure Engineering business.  This team is primarily focused on enabling project and user success through the administration, configuration, and customization of platforms such as Bentley’s ProjectWise, OpenRoads, Microstation, Autodesk’s AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and most other commonly used platforms in the Infrastructure Market. This position supports operations in the Infrastructure Engineering business.  Duties include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities will include designing, developing, optimizing, and testing large-scale data systems involving collection, data ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics processes to support data visualization teams. This will include various big data technologies on the Microsoft Azure platform including including Azure Data Lake, DataBricks - Apache Spark (Pyspark and Spark SQL), SQL Server, Python, and. The individual should have a good grasp of principles in software engineering, data modeling, data architecture, and ETL/ELT processes to provide quality data and analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

• Ability to communicate effectively with users and management
• Proficient using Microsoft Suite and other data entry software
• Relevant infrastructure engineering and/or construction industry execution experience is required
• 10+ years working with Autodesk and Bentley software suites
• Previous technical experience with software installs, licensing and Active Directory
• Previous technical experience for engineering and design platforms such as ProjectWise, OpenRoads, and Civil3D
• Fast learner with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly motivated and self-directed with strong communication skills
• Goal oriented and proficient multi-tasking skills  

 

Qualifications

•    Experience in a cloud-based architecture preferred, such as Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, etc.
•    Strong understanding of ETL fundamentals and solutions.
•    Should be proficient in writing advanced / complex SQL, expertise in performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries required.
•    Experience in (or willing to learn) Python/Pyspark and Spark SQL (primary languages used in our solutions ).
•    Experience in troubleshooting data issues, analyzing end to end data pipelines, and working with various teams in resolving issues and solving complex problems.
•    Strong experience developing data analytics and visualizations with transformation and aggregation from multiple formats for analyzing and uncovering insights / intelligence for project teams.
•    Familiar with source control and version control systems (preferably Git)
•    Experience in troubleshooting and working with various teams in resolving issues / solving complex problems.
•    Proven ability to understand complex business rules and processes.
•    Experience with creation of technical documentation for Functional Requirements, Scope documents, Technical Design, and Business Process Modeling etc.
•    Excellent written and strong oral communication skills.
•    Familiarity with the EPC industry strongly preferred.
•    Bonus if the candidate has knowledge of engineering and design tool workflows (Smart suite by Hexagon)

Industry Specific Experience:  
•    8+ years of experience in a data analytics, data engineering, data warehousing or data science role
