Senior Software Development Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Development Engineer to join our ASIC Driver Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with extensive experience in C programming, computer networking, and operating systems. This role requires an individual who is proactive, eager to learn new technologies, and passionate about cybersecurity.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain drivers for network ASICs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features for our security solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Troubleshoot and debug software issues, particularly in network drivers.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, especially in cybersecurity and networking.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software development with a focus on C programming.
• Strong understanding of computer networking principles and protocols.
• Experience with operating systems, particularly in a Unix/Linux environment.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and learn new technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience with version control systems (Git).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with driver development for network ASICs.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
• Proficiency in additional programming languages such as Python.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000-$185,000. Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time as well as a comprehensive leave program.

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
