About the role
<p dir="ltr"><strong>Qubit Pharmaceuticals is looking for a highly qualified Senior Researcher to lead our project on noise simulation for quantum control research and </strong><strong>hardware characterization,</strong><strong> and dataset generation for testing quantum algorithms under realistic noisy conditions. </strong></p><p><br/><br/></p><p dir="ltr"><strong>The perfect fit for this job</strong></p><p dir="ltr">We are highly seeking a senior quantum physics/control/computing scientist who is a problem solver with computational skills and an analytical mindset. A passionate scientist with time and project management skills. Leadership skills are also needed for this position. </p><p dir="ltr">A scientist with a strong background in computational quantum physics, error mitigation, quantum control, noise models, and machine learning.<br/><br/></p><p dir="ltr"><strong>Your role</strong></p><ul>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Lead the development of noise simulation software for quantum processors.</p></li>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Generate and analyze datasets for benchmarking quantum algorithms.</p></li>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Develop new methods for quantum control and error mitigation.</p></li>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Collaborate with hardware developers and research institutions.</p></li>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Mentor junior researchers and students involved in the project.</p></li>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at conferences.</p></li>
</ul><p><br/></p><p dir="ltr"><strong>Your Qualifications</strong></p><ul>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">PhD in quantum computing, computational physics or relative field </p></li>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Minimum of 5 years work experience in the quantum computing field. </p></li>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Strong quantum information background, with experience in quantum noise models, error mitigation, and quantum control.</p></li>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Strong background in the physics of some of the most relevant quantum computing platforms. </p></li>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Strong experience in python programming, including using the relevant programming packages.</p></li>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Experience with collaborative software development platforms (GitHub, GitLab), ideally via contributions to some open-source quantum computing software kit.</p></li>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Experience in performing simulations on HPC systems (CPU/GPU) is desirable.</p></li>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Proven track record of research excellence demonstrated through publications and conference presentations.</p></li>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Excellent problem-solving skills.</p></li>
<li dir="ltr"><p dir="ltr">Strong experience of independent work, supervising junior colleagues/students.</p></li>
