The Budget and Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting for the Student Health Center’s (SHC) operational, endowment, investments/gifts, and other accounting functions and is part of the SHC’s Financial Operations team. The incumbent is responsible for: 1) accurate and timely financial reporting for 18 programs, and various grant and endowment funds 2) accurate and timely monthly financial projections, 3) maintaining proper internal controls for related functions, 4) timely, reliable financial and management reporting, 5) compliance with regulatory reporting requirements, 6) responsible for providing analytical data in support of the annual budget preparations 7) dedicated supervision and training for Budget and Accounting staff and 8) serving as accounting subject matter expert for complex related financial matters. Provide professional general accounting services and support to SHC’s senior management team, and clinical and administrative staff.
Qualifications
Required Education:Bachelor's Degree in Business/ Accounting or related field.Preferred Education:Master's Degree Business/ Accounting; CPA.Required Experience:5+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated progressive accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a thorough knowledge of accounting best practices.Preferred Experience:5+ years of fiscal responsibilities in an ambulatory healthcare environment.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent data management skill and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to influence and advocate when appropriate. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service including responsive and timely follow ups, as well as problem solving complex issues and evaluating alternative solutions.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $100,000 to USD $115,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
