About the Position

The PC/LAN Technician Sr. is responsible for providing the highest level of technical expertise while maintaining software and hardware service for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. This position performs complex analytical, technical, and administrative work in the troubleshooting, planning, design, and installation of new and existing PC/LAN systems. May be responsible for training, monitoring, and assigning work to a small number of technical support staff.

Position Qualifications

Experience

  • Associate degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.

 
And

 Experience 

  • Five (5) years of troubleshooting and maintaining PC/Server software, hardware, and applications experience.

 
OR 
 
Combined education and experience qualifications

  • An equivalent combination of related post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may be substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-per-year basis

 
Other requirements: 

  • You must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license or can obtain a license by the time of hire.
  • Training that may be provided on-the-job: FEMA NIMS – IS100 and 700; Safety; Payroll; PREA. 
  • Prior to hiring, the Sheriff's Office requires that all candidates pass an extensive background review.


Our Preferred Candidate has

  • Previous IT or Technology Senior/Lead professional experience.
  • Previous experience working in a law enforcement environment. 
  • CompTIA A+ certification and/or Network + certification.
  • Experience supporting Windows 10 / Windows 11.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365.

Work typically occurs indoors in an office environment. Tasks require ability to handle interruptions, high work volume applying accuracy and concentration. Position requires ethical conduct and a professional demeanor.
