Manufacturing Operations Intern

The Manufacturing Operations Co-op/Intern is an operations support role with exposure to aspects of manufacturing at EMS. The primary focus includes learning, assisting, and supporting the manufacturing operations department to maximize the production of quality parts based on the projects provided by Production and more senior machinists.

Responsibilities

• Enforce and support the policies and intent of the EMS Quality Management System.
• Work and communicate closely with your fellow employees in providing a clean, safe, professional atmosphere for EMS to provide the support to which our customers have become accustomed.
• At the direction of the Employer, perform duties assigned relating to the area(s) of responsibility, including assembly, paint, laser weld, machine operations, robotics, CMM operations.
• Escalate issues or concerns that require review of equipment for repair or adjustment.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in a related engineering academic discipline or demonstrated requisite professional experience.
• Have at least a general knowledge of machining techniques on the equipment assigned and ability to follow Machinist Manufacturing Requirements and Expectations.
• Effectively operate equipment and monitor production and quality standards.
• Monitor machine operation and run times.  Report negative variances to area Lead.
• Ensure first article, in-process, scrap, job tickets, and router documentation are complete and accurate.
• Have an understanding of relevant Safety requirements.

Restrictions

• Able to lift or maneuver material within your scope of responsibility.
• Able to stand the majority of shift to perform duties.
