The Director, Workplace Technology will lead a team dedicated to delivering a seamless, secure, and innovative digital workspace for Concentra employees. This includes medical staff, center operations colleagues, back-office administrators, remote staff and corporate colleagues. This role involves strategic planning, leadership, and operational oversight of end-user computing, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), printing, desktop peripherals, and productivity and collaboration tools. The ideal candidate will drive improvements in employee experience, enhance productivity, and ensure the organization leverages cutting-edge technology to meet its goals.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of all digital workplace solutions including collaboration technologies, device deployment & management, end user storage, desktop virtualization and printing.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for workplace technology aligned with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to integrate workplace technology solutions with broader IT initiatives.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and evaluate emerging technologies for potential organizational benefit.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing Workplace Technology team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the management and optimization of end-user computing platforms, including desktop, mobile, and virtualized desktop (Citrix).
- Ensure the reliable operation of printing systems and desktop peripherals.
- Manage the implementation and support of productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom).
- Drive initiatives to improve employee satisfaction and productivity through enhanced workplace technology.
- Serve as a key advocate for the end-user experience within IT and the organization.• Ensure compliance with IT security policies and industry standards across all workplace technology solutions.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure cost-effective and secure solutions.
- Develop and manage the Workplace Technology budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings while enhancing service delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree; Major: Computer Science, Computer Engineering. Experience in lieu of required education is acceptable.
- Experience with large heterogenous enterprise environments
- 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing end-user computing or workplace technology.
- Strong knowledge of virtual desktop solutions (Citrix), productivity tools and collaboration platforms (Microsoft 365).
- End user device management experience
- Proven track record of improving end-user experiences and operational efficiencies.
- Experience migrating on-premises solutions to the cloud.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic planning, organization design and development experience.
- Vendor management and service externalization experience.
- IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments experience.
- Knowledge of collaboration technologies, device deployment & management, cloud storage, Workplace AI, Desktop virtualization.
- Knowledge of the Enterprise Service Management (ITSM/ITIL).
- Experience with Healthcare preferred
