Wood is currently recruiting for a talented Senior Principal Flow Assurance Consultant, to support our Consulting business in Houston, TX. This role is part of a global team, and the successful candidate will report to the Team Manager – Production Optimization USA and interface with the Technical leads in the Americas and the Global Flow Assurance Technical Manager.
The Senior Principal Flow Assurance Consultant is responsible for ensuring that the objectives of the Production Optimization (PO) as well as broader Intelligent Assets (IA) team and its customers are performed to a satisfactory high technical standard and that specific work tasks are performed safely, effectively and in compliance with the specified objectives. As such, he/she shall provide technical leadership on key company projects and shall be viewed as the Engineering Authority and a senior level focal point for the Customer, Contractor(s), Suppliers/Vendors and other internal department(s).
The Senior Principal Flow Assurance Consultant shall act as the center of expertise within an Operating Division for all related technical activities. In addition he/she shall:
- Approve work scopes, proposals, and CTRs on projects posing technical risk for the company;
- Independently perform detailed technical work in support of project and study work;
- Provide technical oversight and technical QA on key projects for the Company;
- Monitor operations, resources and where appropriate obtain approval for proposed expenditure for specific tasks and report to Team Manager, Project Manager, or Customer (as required);
- Perform technical monitoring and approval of any work by external contractors or vendors;
- Participate in Safety Reviews / HAZOP, and Risk Assessments and ensure that the foreseeable effects of specific tasks are fully assessed;
- Act as an expert technical interface as required for peer reviews, partner’s meetings, etc.
- Approve project documents and ensure QA compliance on corporately strategic projects; and
- Provide high-level strategic guidance on corporate technology and research programs.
- Assist in the training and development of the team personnel.
- Support other key work as may be required on a time-to-time basis. This may involve detailed studies, development of guidelines and specifications, technical verification, research or other similar work.
- For checking and/or approving MSi Kenny documentation and data.
- For checking and/or approving subcontractor / vendor documentation and data.
- Represent Wood as part of industry committees, forums, etc.
- ensure compliance with the Company HSE Policy and Quality Management System (QMS) and provide insight/guidance to the HSE Manager, Quality Manager, and the President
- Engineering Degree in (Chemical/Mechanical) with 20+ years experience in flow assurance, process and/or pipeline simulation. At least 10 years’ experience in Flow Assurance in the Oil & Gas sector
- A recognized industry reputation in flow assurance, production chemistry (hydrates, asphaltenes, paraffins), thermodynamics of fluid behaviour for hydrocarbons and CO2 systems, real time monitoring systems, leak detection systems and process/pipeline simulation technology through publications and industry participation
- A keen insight into core technology issues related to Wood’s businesses
- A proven reputation as being a valuable internal technical expert
- The proven ability to serve as a technology advisor to Production Optimization team and Wood’s senior management
- Expert understanding of related analysis tools
- Demonstrated Leadership skills
- Demonstrated long-term impact on Production Optimization and broader Intelligent Assets business through technological contributions
