Position Description

This position develops, manages, and executes external-facing marketing and fan engagement elements for the Ole Miss men's basketball program. The incumbent plans and implements strategies and marketing initiatives to engage fans and encourage increased attendance for assigned sports.

 

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Develops and executes new strategies and initiatives to consistently invite community members, increase attendance/ticket sales and enhance fan engagement for Ole Miss men's basketball
  • Identifies opportunities for sport-specific branding, advertising, and fan engagement
  • Increases and monitors the brand for Ole Miss men's basketball
  • Oversees the creation, accuracy, and distribution of collateral relating to Ole Miss men's basketball
  • Oversees campus and community activations; proactively seek out opportunities to promote Ole Miss men's basketball at campus and community events; foster relationships with campus and community groups and identify outside-the-box ways to market assigned sports
  • Oversight of official Club Red student section Registered Student Organization (RSO); maintain group status within larger University RSO ecosystem; actively recruit and develop a leadership cabinet and "street team" of other passionate students; set up monthly meetings and proactively communicate with leadership team to source ideas and execute on-campus initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with Greek life organizations and other RSOs
  • Promote and manage student attendance for neutral site and road games where applicable
  • Foster campus leadership relationships with all necessary parties including scheduling events on campus
  • Management of season ticket holder relations with the goal of increasing ticket redemption rates
  • Develop and implement communication strategies targeting season ticket holders with the goal of enhancing their game day experience and getting them to utilize their tickets
  • Track and analyze season ticket holder scan rates and relevant data to guide strategy
  • Manage season ticket holder redemption programs inclusive of in-game season ticket check-in operations, development of in-game perks and experiences to enhance value for season ticket holders
  • Establish partnerships with local businesses, schools and nonprofit organizations to increase community presence and ultimately drive attendance
  • Plan and execute community nights and themed events to attract groups and organizations to events
  • Contribute to Ole Miss men's basketball social media properties by creating and publishing marketing-focused content designed to promote the program
  • Manages and maintains budgets for assigned sports
     

Position Details

Appointment:12 month

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

AND

Experience:

Two (2) year of experience related to the above described duties.

 

An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
