About the role

Position Summary: 

The Medical Director will work with the Clinical Services Department’s staff to execute and review clinical protocols, performance objectives, productivity benchmarks, compliance measures, provider workflow planning, and optimal provider scheduling. As well as establish and manage the medical and mental health documentation review process and medical and mental health assessment services for participants within mandated timeframes. 

 

What You'll Do:

  •  Manage all medical and related services, including, but not necessarily limited to the Clinical Services Department’s administration, participant reception, psychosocial assessments, general medical 
  • examinations (including labs), specialty medical and mental health examinations, and functional capacity outcome (FCO) determinations, including pre-determination, inter-disciplinary meetings, etc. 

  • Provides direct input on medical education and training priority areas for health care personnel 

  • Work closely with all medical service managers and administrators to identify and analyze operational 

  • challenges, and to design and implement process improvements 

  • Identify operational issues and facilitate corresponding process improvements in close collaboration 

  • with the Project Director and, as necessary, medical service managers and administrators 

  • Keep Project Director abreast of progress towards programmatic and contractual goals as measured by performance management reports and other tracking methods 

  • Provide ongoing training and Grand Rounds for clinical staff 

  • Review and approve recommended determinations and modifications and referrals for participants who have challenged the determination made by the physician; a new and acute medical or mental health condition that may warrant a change in the determination; or not actively participated in the program for 90 days 

  • Review and approve recommended determination modifications and wellness plan extensions for 

  • participants who completed their initial wellness plan 

  • Identify operational issues and facilitate corresponding process improvements, in collaboration with the Program Director
