Accountant Consultant

Job Description:

This position is responsible for overseeing a system-wide investment accounting process and or has accounting responsibilities for areas with significant dollars and or complex accounting requirements. This position is knowledgeable about U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP).

Essential Functions

• Provides expertise and oversight for a system-wide investment accounting process. 
• Coordinate with internal and external contacts to ensure accurate feed of information between investment custodians and reporting service providers.
• Work within PeopleSoft, Workday, and Oracle reporting softwares.
• May be responsible for training, directing, and reviewing others working within the same accounting function.
• Provides expertise in applying U.S. GAAP.  May direct and oversee multiple areas of the investment accounting function during the month-end close process.
• May review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.  May be a project lead or perform supervisory functions.
• May assist in preparing year-end financial statement disclosures required for the annual audit.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in accounting, finance or business administration.  Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.  Master’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrated self-motivated with the ability to work with limited direct supervision
• Experience in a role requiring effective project management skills, a high degree of accuracy, and sound decision making with limited supervision.
• Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Preferred qualifications include licensed Certified Public Accountant and working knowledge of Intermountain Health's general ledger, information systems, and financial processes.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Frequent interactions with executive leaders, providers, colleagues, customers, clients, and visitors that require caregiver to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$37.31 - $58.75
