Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Claim Professional to join our growing team in FT. Wayne, IN!   

The Senior Claim Professional position will manage a caseload of mid-to-high severity, complex and litigated General Liability cases and is responsible for successfully managing the day-to-day activities from a claim's inception through conclusion. Our claim professionals serve as the primary liaison between American Specialty, the Insurance Carrier, the Insured and the Claimant. Liaison duties include managing effective and timely communication between all parties and maintaining an accurate, up-to-date claim file documenting all required service-related activities. 

How You Will Contribute: 

• Significant general liability coverage technical expertise. 

• Highly developed skills to accurately interpret complex coverages. 

• Formulate accurate coverage opinions and prepare coverage letters. 

• Conduct thorough investigations. 

• Calculate injury/reserve evaluations. 

• Actively create and implement file strategies, management of litigation and appropriate resolution of claims. 

• Attendance at mediations, arbitrations and settlement conferences. 

• Timely and accurate communication with all parties involved in the management/overview of files. This requires being an active and productive part of the teamwork process. 

• Strong ability to interpret contracts for opportunities of risk transference. 

Skills & Experience to Be Successful: 
  

• Five or more years of advanced General Liability claim handling experience 

• Active Adjuster licenses in required states (or acquire licensure in all states within six months of hire) 

• Analytical skills for coverage determination 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook/Excel/Word programs and ability to adapt quickly to proprietary internal programs 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills  

• Maintain confidentiality 

• Ability to effectively work with and alongside people at all levels of the department and the Company
