You will be a trusted partner to our internal stakeholders and collaborate effectively with our external tax service providers, providing indirect tax guidance to enable the business and Cover Genius’ rapid growth. We are looking for a driven, reliable, and self-starting individual who works exceptionally well with others and wants to be part of a global insurtech company with the vision to protect all customers of the world’s largest digital companies. This role reports into the Director of Global Tax. <h3>What will your day look like? You will...</h3> <ul> <li>Be a solid partner to internal stakeholders, such as the insurance partnerships teams, product teams, and the legal department, providing them global indirect tax guidance (IPT, VAT, GST, Sales Tax, etc)</li><li>Play an integral role in the global tax function, including preparing indirect tax returns by partnering  with local tax advisors</li><li>Oversee the preparation and submission of all indirect tax related data and documentation to local third party service providers, ensuring efficient and accurate completion</li><li>Perform month-end close activities such as tax entries and indirect tax position reviews</li><li>Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and overall process improvement as we build and scale the global team</li><li>Support the Global Financial Reporting team during financial statement audits, which includes the preparation, maintenance, and oversight of audit-ready tax reconciliations and workpapers</li><li>Support in maintenance of the tax compliance calendars and work with the tax director and external tax advisors to maintain compliance</li><li>Partake in ad hoc finance and tax projects and analyses.</li></ul> <h3>To help us level up, you'll ideally have:</h3> <ul> <li>5+ years of indirect tax compliance and consultancy experience; Big Four experience preferred</li><li>Degree in tax preferred</li><li>Thrives on collaboration and operates with a strong internal stakeholder mentality</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Strong ability to quickly identify both risks and opportunities while maintaining a strong focus on both process improvements and results</li><li>Proactive self-starter, resourceful with a strong work ethic</li><li>Capable of working independently as well as working in a team</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Excel</li><li>Experience with Netsuite is a bonus</li><li>Fluent in spoken and written English</li></ul>Cover Genius not only cares about being the best in our industry, we care about our team.
