Part-time Tutoring Coordinator

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Create a professional and welcoming environment by modeling respect for students’ diverse cultures, language skills, ability, and experience.
- Serve as math or writing tutor, promoting independent learning among students.
- Ensure proper usage of tutoring tracking software; and as needed, create reports from this software.
- Direct student questions and concerns to appropriate faculty and/or department.
- Promote tutoring and supplemental instruction to students, faculty, and staff.
- Assist with special projects requiring tutoring expertise.
- Build awareness and collaborate with student affairs staff about services and needs of students.
- Maintain and develop training for any online tutoring resources.
- Provide staff coverage for the Learning Resource Center, including academic testing and library services.

Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned, and individuals may perform other duties as assigned including work in other areas to cover absences or relief to equalize peak work periods.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree, or in progress.
- Evidence of academic proficiency in Math or English, with a preference for previous tutoring or teaching experience.
- Ability to evaluate students' work, promote independent learning, and maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new programs with ease.
- Excellent human relations, interpersonal communication, and customer service skills.
- Flexibility, patience, and the ability to multitask, with a commitment to a sustainable culture of diversity, equity, and belonging.
- Ability to work flexible and expanded hours as needed, especially during heavy volume testing periods.
