Description:
As a Shuttle Driver at Arapahoe Basin, you will provide an essential service to our employees by driving our shuttle to get people to and from work each day. This position is responsible for driving the shuttle vehicle to and from each designated pick-up/drop-off point while adhering to a strict schedule, as well as inspecting the vehicle for cleanliness and overall safety.
This position requires individuals who value customer service, are very punctual, and have strong attention to detail and their surroundings. A CDL is not required for this role but you must be able to pass a motor vehicle background check and be skilled at driving in a snowy, high alpine, mountainous environment.
The hours for this role are as follows: Wednesday, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM, then on Thursday mornings from 6:45 AM to 8:15 AM, followed by an afternoon shift from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Additionally, a morning shift on Fridays from 6:45 AM to 8:15 AM. These times are subject to change.
The Employee Shuttle Driver will also be responsible for operating the shuttle service on Saturdays and Sundays, transporting employees to and from the designated employee parking lot.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to A-Basin employees
- Drive the shuttle on a daily basis adhering to all time restrictions and safety protocols.
- Adhere to shuttle capacity limits at all times
- Maintain awareness of road conditions, other vehicles, and all shuttle occupants to maintain safety and handle any situation that may arise.
- Inform shuttle riders of changes to schedule, pick-up locations, and other relevant information.
- Familiar with the shuttle routes and stops
- Knowledgeable about the Summit Stage schedule and nearby stops
- Maintain radio presence to relay current location and other necessary information.
- Maintain communication and relationship with the Base Area and Vehicle Maintenance staff so you are up to date on weather patterns and other operational concerns.
- Work closely with the HR manager and other HR team members to ensure the shuttle is operating as effectively as possible.
- Complete daily operation logs for the shuttle including rider numbers, shuttle stop times, and shuttle vehicle information.
- Ensure the shuttle vehicle is fueled, well-maintained, and presentable at all times.
- Record and report all major incidents and accidents
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Complete A-Basin Shuttle driving training upon hire.
Experience Requirements:
- Previous experience driving a large shuttle-type vehicle with groups of people on board. – Preferred
Skills Required:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and constant awareness of surroundings.
- Great improvisational skills
- Strong knowledge of applicable traffic laws and safe motor vehicle driving techniques
- Experience driving in 4wd environment - Preferred
- Familiar with the concept of downshifting during downhill descents - Preferred
- Mountain driving skills and familiarity with tire chains - preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to withstand high-altitude conditions at all times
- Ability to sit, stand, and navigate stairs
- Ability to lift to 25 pounds
- Ability to see with or without corrective lenses to drive a motor vehicle
