Director Can Making Operations

Description

Vobev is the first company in North America to bring can-making, filling, and shipping into one full-service facility. That means less time spent managing vendors, more reliable shipments, and big cost savings for our partners. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Director Can Making Operations to lead our Beverage Can Manufacturing Operation. In this role, you will drive strategic initiatives, optimize processes, and foster a culture of operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Establishing and communicating the strategic direction for the operation, aligning with company goals and objectives.
• Working closely with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals, providing expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
• Identifying, recommending, and implementing new processes, technologies, and systems to improve operational efficiency and resource utilization.
• Ensuring departmental decisions, project plans, and budgets are aligned with the organization's business plan and vision.
• Establishing, communicating, and implementing operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures for consistent execution.
• Reviewing and approving cost-control reports, cost estimates, staffing requirements, and departmental budgets.
• Presenting performance reports and metrics to the executive leadership team, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
• Staying updated on emerging technologies and trends in operations management to drive innovation and stay competitive.
• Addressing unforeseen issues through troubleshooting with the operations team, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
• Guiding, directing, and evaluating the work of operations management team members, setting goals, providing feedback, and fostering accountability.
• Identifying training needs and ensuring proper training programs are developed and provided for leaders within the organization, nurturing talent for management roles.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or related field, along with a minimum of 5-7 years' experience in beverage can manufacturing operations, including at least 3 years in a leadership role. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a track record of driving process improvements and cost savings.
