As a tax accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, conducting tax research, and providing strategic tax planning advice. This role requires a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, excellent research and analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Review and/or prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns accurately and timely.• Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.• Assist with the monthly filing of sales and use tax returns.• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports related to tax matters.• Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information for tax filing, audits, and third-party preparers.• Monitor changes in tax legislation and update company policies and processes accordingly.• Respond to tax inquiries and notices from tax authorities.• Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in tax accounting or tax analysis.• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.• Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
