Brand & Marketing Researcher
YahooAbout the role
A Little About Us
The Brand & Marketing research team, part of the larger Marketing organization, leverages quantitative and qualitative methodologies to provide actionable insights that drive consumer-first decisions. We aim to support new user growth and current user loyalty by identifying what drives consumers to make brand and product choices.
Our research is largely conducted in-house and spans the entire Yahoo ecosystem; it includes brand tracking, brand positioning research, creative pre-testing, audience research and custom projects tailored to address specific business questions.
A Lot About You
You are a curious and passionate researcher who looks for the “why” behind the data. You are a critical thinker who is both strategic and creative. You are deeply familiar with advertising and marketing and understand the importance and power of a brand versus a product.
With experience in both primary research and vendor-led research, quantitative and qualitative research, you can confidently recommend and execute the research that will best answer stakeholder questions. You don’t view research as transactional and work hard to build strong relationships with internal clients and cross-functional team members.
What You’ll Be Doing
Conducting custom, end-to-end quantitative research (e.g., survey design, data cleaning/integrity, building and interpreting crosstabs, producing research reports)
Engaging with external research vendors on a semi-regular basis
Regularly presenting research results to audiences with varying levels of research familiarity
Partnering with UX Research, Analytics, and other cross-functional teams
What You Bring to the Role
BA/BS/MA/MS in related field (e.g. Marketing, Market Research, Social Sciences)
5-7 years market research/consumer insights experience; brand tracking experience a plus
Expertise in conducting primary research
Experience managing vendor-led research studies
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey actionable insights
