Job Description
PMO Analyst is responsible for maintaining the data integrity and report generation in the PMO system of record and working directly with project managers to ensure timely project updates and compliance to overall project management methodology. This role requires a coaching mentality when interacting with a diverse project manager population, both from a skillset and cultural perspective. The role will also contribute to establishing standards in how budgets are tracked and reported and will serve as the go-to contact point for updating project phase gate readiness and producing status, value, and resource consumption reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as system administrator for the project management system of record and ensure project data integrity and uniformity
- Establish project and portfolio reporting cadence and publish reports to stakeholders and leadership to facilitate timely decision-making
- Onboard new project management personnel to the project management framework and reporting requirements
- Act as the go-to point of contact for project administration within the project management system of record
- Attend leadership updates and phase gate reviews, capturing decisions and ensuring system is up to date with latest status
- Contribute to overall maturation of the PMO through process reviews and improvement.
- Coach project managers in how to comply with PMO requirements
- Contribute to training sessions aimed at advancing project management capabilities and best practices, always striving for efficiency and repeatable processes
Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a formal PMO environment (for technology, services, or manufacturing companies) in a global context.
- 3+ years relevant experience of maintaining a PMO system of record and conducting delivery assurance/project audits.
- 3+ years relevant experience in process improvement; PMO process improvement a plus
- Coaching mindset and project management skills
- Well-developed interpersonal skills: Experience in successfully managing internationally and culturally diverse relationships. Advanced capability in communication, conflict resolution, internal negotiation, and networking. Strong team spirit and customer service orientation.
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in Business Management, Project Management, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Agile certification (CSM, SAFe, etc.) highly desirable
- Jira experience highly desirable
