Supervising, Teaching & Mentoring

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and other research trainees, providing guidance on experimental design, laboratory techniques, data analysis, research practices, and professional development.
  • Coordinate and lead laboratory meetings, research discussions, journal clubs, and collaborative meetings with internal and external research teams.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive research environment that promotes scientific excellence, professional growth, and adherence to laboratory standards and expectations.

Conducting & Managing Research

  • Oversee research projects and laboratory operations, ensuring that activities remain aligned with the laboratory's scientific mission, research objectives, and strategic goals.
  • Independently design, conduct, and troubleshoot complex experiments that are critical to the laboratory's research mission.
  • Apply and oversee a broad range of advanced research methodologies, including cell culture, animal surgery, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, histology, PCR, Western blotting, MRI imaging, spectroscopy, RNA extraction and sequencing, immunotherapy, and dendritic cell culture.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret complex experimental data using appropriate statistical approaches and contribute to the development of scientifically rigorous conclusions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable institutional and regulatory requirements, including maintaining appropriate approvals and adherence to IACUC protocols and other research-related regulations.
  • Oversee laboratory purchasing and resource management, including the procurement of research supplies, equipment, and animals, while ensuring responsible and efficient use of laboratory resources.
  • Assist with the management and oversight of grant funds, including monitoring expenditures, supporting budget planning, and identifying opportunities for new research funding.
  • Identify relevant funding opportunities and contribute to the preparation and submission of grant proposals, including developing scientific content, figures, supporting documentation, and other proposal materials.
  • Lead and contribute to the preparation of abstracts, manuscripts, publications, presentations, and other scientific communications to disseminate research findings.
  • Prepare high-quality figures, presentations, and other scientific materials to support publications, grant submissions, scientific meetings, and collaborative research initiatives.
Expected Salary:

$65,000-$68,000

Required Qualifications: MD, PhD, or MD/PhD in immunology, Cancer Biology, or other related field. Preferred:
  • Experience in immunotherapy

  • Professionalism, working in the lab onsite/in person.
