Position Summary

The Director of Healthcare Delivery & Evaluation Analytics coordinates the effective use of data and analytic assets, services, and products for NewYork-Presbyterian, Weill Cornell Medicine, and Columbia. The director consults with tri-institutional senior administrative and clinical leaders to define information requirements, analytics services, and deliverables to meet the needs of the enterprise. The director will partner with quality, clinical, and operation leadership & stakeholders to comprehensively evaluate efforts aimed at improving patient care delivery, optimizing operation workflow, and increasing revenue. The director will collaborate proactively with internal and external analytics teams, data engineering teams, vendors, and other IT departments to support data-driven initiatives. In partnership with the EQUIP Center for Learning Health System Science and other related centers and initiatives throughout NYP, Cornell, and Columbia, the Director will measure the impact of interventions on Quality, Safety, and Efficacy, ensuring the highest standards of scientific rigor in evaluation processes. The director will oversee the responsible and effective use of various proprietary and non-proprietary data sets, including individual patient and employee data, assuming adherence to all regulatory and accreditation requirements. The director will have supervisory responsibilities, advising and guiding the work of individual team members, identifying and coordinating strategies across teams, and managing and mentoring staff.

Essential Job Duties

  • Ensure implementation of a systematic, standard methodology for performance improvement throughout the organization and facilitate this process for all disciplines. Ensures a collaborative approach to quality, high reliability, and performance improvement to drive the success of organizational priorities.
  • Provide leadership in developing and executing evaluation strategies, including the creation and validation of novel measures in a complex Health IT environment.
  • Coordinate and execute evaluation strategies across the tri-institutional enterprise, staying informed on relevant issues and activities to ensure responsive and effective service delivery.
  • Offer AI model evaluation services for internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, covering a comprehensive assessment of AI tools, from qualitative analysis of model features to retrospective and prospective performance evaluations.
  • Direct the overall operation of the analytics staff within the team, acting to ensure optimum data integrity of the information provided to the enterprise, and providing the most current, accurate data and benchmarking using all available resources.
  • Define priorities, initiatives, performance measures, and targets for the analytics team and track performance against objectives. Prioritizes, assigns, and supervises work to meet data and reporting requests.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee analytics project management processes, following enterprise initiatives, regulatory standards, and market trends and imperatives.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, selection, and orientation of employees in assigned areas. Provides work direction, assigns and/or schedules work, conducts on-the-job training, and answers job-related questions. Monitors performance and adherence to attendance policies. Prepares performance evaluations and recommends appropriate personnel actions for staff, relative to promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action up to and including termination according to hospital policies and procedures. Assists in the interpretation, development, and implementation of hospital personnel and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Represent enterprise at professional association meetings, periodically serving on advisory groups and committees.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and implement any new technologies that may effectively and more efficiently meet departmental and organizational goals.
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum ten years of previous work-related experience
  • Experience with Epic or other Electronic Medical Record systems
  • Experience working in a matrix environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Process Improvement and Quality Assurance activities
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional team and work in a fast-paced,
