Boeing Phantom Works is seeking a Senior Test & Evaluation Engineer to support proprietary activities in Las Vegas NV. The individual selected for this position will lead a test team charged with integrating, testing, and evaluating state-of-the-art technologies. Responsibilities include test planning, test technique development, test execution, data review / analysis, and test reporting associated with test programs for critical customer directed technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute both ground and flight test missions
  • Control and/or coordinate test article configuration, maintenance, and checkout
  • Conduct test plan working group meetings, develop/publish detailed test plans, support technical/safety review boards, create test profiles and test cards, and manage test schedules/resources.
  • Develop new test methods to evaluate emerging technologies and implementations
  • Break down ambiguous requirements into testable and measurable objectives
  • Coordinate test requirements with responsible engineers from both internal and external customers
  • Review critical test procedures to identify potential problems and resolve issues as necessary to ensure safe and efficient data collection and overall technical adequacy
  • Represent test and evaluation interests in synthesis of system limitations, airworthiness assessments, and technical publications
  • Provide guidance on data-driven investigation of complex test anomalies, off-nominal test results, and problem resolution
  • Prepare, review, and publish test summaries and test reports to ensure decision-quality data delivered to customers

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Shift: Additional shifts may be required to support program objectives.

Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Experience with real-time test execution in a control room setting to include data monitoring, test point clearance, test team management, and standard communication protocols.
  • Ability to effectively interface with personnel from multiple engineering, manufacturing, and operations disciplines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers from government and industry
  • Ability to work independently as well as train and mentor less experienced test team members
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelors (or higher) engineering degree

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Experience with Boeing tactical aircraft test and evaluation processes and products such as Test Information Sheets (TIS) and Flight Preparation Sheets (FPS)
  • Experience with all elements of the AFTC test planning format
  • Strong MS Office application skills (primarily MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access)
  • Ability to lead and engage in cross-discipline technical discussions as related to maintaining a disciplined test and evaluation approach (predict – test – validate)
  • Experience leading teams evaluating state-of-the-art technologies, resolving anomalies, and maturing technology

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
