POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the shift supervisor and/or the shift team leader, the CDL Shuttle Driver will be responsible for operating a box truck, flatbed truck, van with enclosed trailer or stand alone van for loading and delivery of products to/from the plant to the warehouse in a manner consistent with all safety, quality, and operational work instructions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for safely operating the vehicle on each trip. Must follow all applicable laws and company policy.

· Responsible for accounting for records involving vehicle maintenance and upkeep of vehicles.

· Must function and interact on a daily basis with warehouse supervisors and comply with warehouse safety requirements.

· Must communicate using cellular telephone with operations, and warehouse personnel in a courteous and professional manner.

· Must maneuver trucks into loading and unloading position, following signal from loading/unloading crew as needed. Also place safety wheel chocks in front of wheel/tire to prevent truck movement as applicable. Some areas require backing of equipment into buildings/loading docks where applicable.  

· Follow all company policies, guidelines, and quality procedures.

· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

· On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the equipment.

· Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and yard

 

OTHER DUTIES

· Performs other duties as assigned.

· Work overtime as dictated by business whether mandatory or voluntary.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and/or Experience

· Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

· Must have utility trailer experience.

· Must have a clean driving record.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

· Satisfactory completion of Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for tractor trailer operation is a plus, but not required for this position.

 

Other

· Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate.
