Job Description:  

Major job responsibility of this Senior Technician position is to coordinate all aspects of the Local Public Agency (LPA) Program for the Department. This involves close coordination with many stakeholders including State and Federal agencies, municipal officials, and Departmental Bureaus, Offices and Program. 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Developing, administering, and maintaining a complete LPA training program, 
• Drafting all LPA agreements and assisting the Project Managers in implementing them, 
• Continually reviewing and recommending improvements to MaineDOT LPA policies, procedures, and practices, and,
• Compiling information for construction contract packages, including packaging plan sets and project specific specifications, plus completing estimates for projects as part of the project advertise package. These duties specifically applied to the PS&E (Plans, Specifications & Estimate) stage of project delivery.

The selected candidate will also coordinate, compile, and distribute Weekly Highlights for the Multimodal Program.

To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:

Eight (8) years of experience in engineering -OR- a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and four (4) years of engineering experience -OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and six (6) years of experience in engineering.
