Department Overview

Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers.  As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response. The Gas Data Management team works closely with partners across Gas Operations and the Enterprise to collaboratively and strategically support critical data elements, the creation of metadata and the supporting materials that enable informed use of data resources.

 

 

Position Summary

The Operations Data Analyst extracts operations data for analysis, leadership support and responses to ad hoc data requests. The incumbent maintains operations tools & databases ensuring that it is kept up-to-date using data from various PG&E systems. They develop, maintain and enhances operational metric database tools for the broader analytics team(s). The Analyst identifies and solves current gaps in data requirements and ease of access to ensure fast and consistent responses to leadership inquiries.

•             PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Manages data management projects from initial request to presenting data results ensuring that the project is completed within budget and on-time.

•             DATA PROCESSING: Creates automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery ensuring accurate data manipulation and data cleansing.

•             DATA EXTRACTS AND FILE TRANSFERS: Manages extracting data and transferring the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts.

•             DATA ANALYSIS: Analyzes data using various statistical tools to develop ad hoc reports, statistics, trends and profiles.

•             REPORTING: Develops and communicates clear, concise and actionable data analyses for clients.

 

Location is flexible within the PG&E Service Territory between San Ramon and Oakland, please note hiring leader will make final decision of what are appropriate headquarters for the role based on business need.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory (San Ramon and Oakland).

 

Position requires minimal travel

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum:$87,000

Bay Area Maximum:$131,000

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
