What You'll be Doing:
The Director, General Management has profit & loss responsibility, and operates as the top executive for CT’s (Corporate Trust) Business License product & service line, one of a small number of current players in a high growth market. This business aligns with all of CT’s strategy, to expand services to current customers already using our compliance services, and to help attract new customers and partnerships to further accelerate our growth.
This visionary leader will leverage a deep understanding of the business license marketplace and WK’s capabilities to develop and execute a vision and strategy to accelerate revenue growth and expand margin. The Director, General Management will be directly responsibility for managing a 100+ person onshore operation, consisting of onboarding, customer service, fulfillment, and operations management functions. They will collaborate with and recommend actions relating to Business License GTM to Sales & Marketing, and collaborate with other connected partners in a matrix organization.
The Director, General Management is accountable for the formation, execution and evolution of the growth strategy. This includes articulating needs and getting support from key stakeholders for all functions (product, segment, sales & marketing, operations, and finance). This versatile leader will foster a culture of collaboration, learning & experimentation, and continuous improvement with the express goal of sustaining high employee engagement and customer satisfaction, leading to growth in revenue, profit and market penetration. Additionally, the Director, General Management must develop a strong understanding of and accountability to the shared goals of Wolters Kluwer and be highly effective at driving results in a highly matrixed structure.
Key Tasks:
- Maintaining a deep understanding of the market, including size, growth, trends and competition
- Creating a vision and strategy to increase revenue, profit and market share through products & services that deliver differentiated customer value, go-to-market, operational improvement and inorganic initiatives
- Strengthen the product & service offering through:
- Maintaining a deep understanding of customer needs and pain points through research methods such as Contextual Inquiry
- Identifying customer segmentation and key needs and personas in each segment
- Using the above plus financial analysis to evolve and expand the offering
- Using pricing as well as packaging with other CT offerings
- Setting and meeting revenue and cost budgets in collaboration with Finance and other key stakeholders
- Prioritizing initiatives and investments to focus on the best opportunities to drive top and bottom line growth
- Managing a strong go-to-market strategy and results through:
- Aligning GTM to customer segmentation
- Collaboration with Sales & Marketing by providing market insight and needs and proactively suggesting tactics
- Identifying, securing and nurturing partnerships that drive profitable growth
- Setting and managing to financial targets for the annual 3-year Vision & Strategy Plan and the annual Budget
- Reviewing results with key stakeholders and driving continuous improvement
- Drives strategy for ensuring capital resources and capabilities are sufficient to meet the vision for the product line: by:
- Hiring, developing and engaging a strong team to augment the focus on market, customer value, operational effectiveness and financial performance, including one or more potential successors
- Ensuring each team member has clarity in terms of their roles, accountabilities and goals
