We are looking for a Multinational Executive Underwriter – Liability in Chicago

 

Your Team

The North American Liability team offers a wide range of general and specialist national account liability insurance solutions. These can be provided through individual primary policies, umbrella and excess policies or global insurance solutions for multiple risks in multiple locations.  We serve a diverse client list, which includes, but is not limited to, manufacturers, construction, real estate, retail and technology companies. 

 

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Multinational Practice Leader, you will join the team as a Multinational Executive Underwriter – Liability and will be directly involved in growing our Multinational Liability book through sound underwriting, marketing and cross-collaboration with other Allianz Commercial (AzC) lines of business, globally.

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Driving marketing initiatives through pipelining, visitation and building strong, collaborative relationships with our brokers and clients.
• Demonstrating critical thinking in qualifying, selecting and assessing risk.
• Developing creative solutions to our current and future clients’ challenges by collaborating with our Risk Consultants and Claims colleagues.
• Proactively managing risk appetite and profitability while underwriting new and renewal, multi-national accounts by negotiating price and terms and conditions with our broker partners.
• Utilizing negotiation, communication and general deal-making skills to enhance the underwriter/broker/client experience before and after the deal is closed and the customer service begins.
• Executing on the foreign local policy issuance of global insurance programs by partnering with AzC colleagues across the globe.

• Providing excellent customer service, technical knowledge and support.
• Ensuring distinctive client value is delivered through all facets of service engagement.
• Driving and participating in key projects around the business which impact International Liability’s results.
• Developing and maintaining thorough knowledge of the multinational insurance marketplace, products, services and emerging trends.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in multinational liability or a combination of multinational liability and risk management experience;
• Outstanding technical skills with the ability to analyze complex data/information from multiple sources;
• The ability to build and foster relationships internally across the organization and externally with our broker partners;
• Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally;
• Strong solution orientation, with an entrepreneurial spirit; and
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule (at least 2 days a week in office).

 

The annualized base pay range for this role is $117,582 - $201,500. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
