Tax Staff Accountant

Summary        

Tax Staff Accountant with 0 - 1 year of experience; responsible for the preparation and organization of a variety of tax compliance aspects of the company.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of federal and state corporate income and franchise tax returns, including preparation of supporting schedules and workpapers
  • Calculate and prepare estimated tax payments and extensions
  • Reconcile and analyze fixed assets for tax depreciation and amortization purposes
• Assist in the response to state notices
• Research various federal and state tax issues and document findings of research
  • Perform other tasks and projects as requested and assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, MAcc preferred
• CPA eligible candidate or CPA preferred
• Basic knowledge of corporate income tax law
• Basic knowledge of multi-state income tax preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Motivated, hands-on approach and successful working in a team environment

Experience/Skills:

• 0 – 1 year experience in tax compliance
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel
• Experience with tax research software preferred
• Experience with income tax software a plus
