About the role

About Faire

Faire is an online wholesale marketplace built on the belief that the future is local — independent retailers around the globe are doing more revenue than Walmart and Amazon combined, but individually, they are small compared to these massive entities. At Faire, we're using the power of tech, data, and machine learning to connect this thriving community of entrepreneurs across the globe. Picture your favorite boutique in town — we help them discover the best products from around the world to sell in their stores. With the right tools and insights, we believe that we can level the playing field so that small businesses everywhere can compete with these big box and e-commerce giants.

By supporting the growth of independent businesses, Faire is driving positive economic impact in local communities, globally. We’re looking for smart, resourceful and passionate people to join us as we power the shop local movement. If you believe in community, come join ours.

About the role

We’re looking for a collaborative and proactive candidate to take on both strategic and analytical projects that shape how we scale our growing suite of financial products that help retailers and brands grow their businesses. In this role, you’ll lead high-impact projects end to end — from financial forecasting and strategic analysis to presenting recommendations to Faire’s leadership team that inform the direction of our financial product ecosystem. You’ll partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, data science, sales, and marketing teams, and will work closely with Finance leadership on capital markets strategy, turning insights into action, and driving meaningful outcomes for our customers.

Job Description

Capital is necessary in every business, but at Faire it serves as a core value proposition to our customers. The Finance & Strategy team ensures we have access to it and are spending it effectively, but also wears several other hats at Faire including strategic growth planning, company-wide performance management, and business analysis.  As part of this team, you will help inform how Faire can optimally allocate capital in the form of customer benefits that translates to customer loyalty and high-quality, sustainable growth. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to work in a dynamic, highly collaborative, and data-driven environment and have the opportunity to work closely with a variety of functions.

What you'll do:

  • Identify opportunities, develop hypotheses, and execute in-depth analyses to inform product strategy and execution for Faire’s proprietary credit product, Faire Pay
  • Own forecasting, goal-setting, and tracking of key inputs that drive Faire Pay ROI and inform company-level capital and resource allocation decisions
  • Drive Faire Pay’s capital markets strategy by mapping out financing structures to support the product’s growth, driving engagement with external stakeholders (including lenders and/or investors), and executing initiatives to both implement and de-risk this strategy
  • Lead strategic planning across one or more functional areas, partnering with leaders across the organization to position the business for long-term success
  • Enable the organization to remain highly data-driven at scale by synthesizing insights, building financial models, and developing KPIs for real-time performance monitoring

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of combined experience in strategic corporate finance, investing (hedge fund, private equity, venture capital), or financial services (investment banking or equity research) within the fintech or technology sector
  • You are analytical and data-driven - you can define KPIs and measure progress/success for your initiatives
  • You can think across multiple dimensions of a business (sales, product, marketing etc.) and work cross-functionally to deliver results
  • A team-oriented approach — you care about outcomes and enjoy working toward shared goals
  • Comfort with a fast-moving environment and evolving priorities
  • A hands-on and resourceful attitude — you’re eager to learn and find creative solutions

Nice to have:

  • Experience in fintech, especially in analyzing, scaling, or managing a lending or credit product at a growing technology company
  • Knowledge of SQL
