Summary:
Traveling Millwright is responsible to complete scheduled and routine maintenance work along with performing many other duties. Duties for the above, but are not restricted to, preventative/predictive maintenance, tearing down rotating assemblies diagnosing failure and writing up report. Assembling machine/ rotating assembly once all parts are fixed back to OEM condition. Working mill site during mill shutdowns, leading mill teams to perform jobs. When not in field working, will be working in repair shop, working on or repairing customer equipment.
Responsibilities:
- This position requires travel when needed to work on equipment in the field.
- Read blue prints, drawings, measure for bearing clearance and shaft diameters
- Dismantle machines as needed
- Move and align machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
- Utilize hoist, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools
- Operate cranes, and fork lifts
- Use large bearing puller
- Install machinery, new and existing equipment, mill site.
- May repair and lubricate machine and equipment.
- Maintain gear boxes, bearings, stock prep machines
- Trouble shoot equipment reliability issues
Required Experience:
- Minimum high school diploma or have a GED equivalent.
- 5 years or more in related field of work.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Flexibility to work any shifts - must be willing to meet the following requirements:
- Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule,
- Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification,
- Work holidays and/or weekends as needed by workload or mill shutdowns
- Respond to emergencies during off hours and weekends, on call with Voith supplied phone.
- Wear required safety equipment/PPE.
- Continue to develop skills to become a multi-skill mechanic (including millwright, welding, and other fields as needed)
- Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, and heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection)

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
- Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
- Must wear gloves, ear protection, eye protection, safety toe boots.
