Vestas Research & Development (R&D) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within R&D, you'll find our department, that form part of Offshore Solutions.

Our department is leading the technical development and launching new competitive offshore product offerings to the market.  The tasks range from market understanding, product requirements, product verification, scoping, technical project management, risk management, go-to-market plans, market documentation and launch training.

Focus is on securing cross functional alignment across modules, and across the full value chain from sales, procurement, manufacturing to transport, installation, and service.

Our team is in Aarhus, Denmark, and we work across all regions ranging from America, Europe to Asia-Pacific. You will work with very engaged people from many areas of the world that is always willing to support.

 

Responsibilities

As a Specialist - product lead you will be part of the offshore solutions team with the overall responsibility to mature, develop and introduce offshore wind turbine offerings. In greater detail your area of responsibility will be to:

  • Consolidate market use cases and manage and formalize product requirements
  • Ensure module to module alignment and tradeoffs 
  • Lead scoping and technical execution of product development projects
  • Conduct technical review at product level
  • Manage risks on product level and towards the commercial projects
  • Ensure product level verification, validation and prototype management
  • Liaise with a network of sales, procurement, manufacturing, transport, construction and service and Support market launch activities

 

 

Qualifications

  • Structural, Mechanical or Civil Engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters)
  • Solid experience within product development, technical project management or product management 
  • Experience with stage-gate development and system engineering processes
  • We prefer experience from wind industry or from working in a large international company with focus on product development, manufacturing and sales of complex products
  • Good communication skills in English, both orally and written

Expected travel up to 20 days annually.
