Summary
This is a full-time position located at the Capitol Annex Building in Baton Rouge, LA.
This Tourism Marketing Representative position will concentrate efforts on implementing these strategies in the Domestic and International Sales Division.
The Louisiana Office of Tourism (LOT) Marketing program directs, manages, and monitors public relations, advertising, and media agencies through contracts with private sector companies specializing in different aspects of destination marketing practices. This effort also includes partnerships with professional groups such as the Louisiana Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (LACVB) and the Louisiana Tourism Association (LTA) and local Convention and Visitor Bureaus (CVBs).
One of the most critical responsibilities of the Domestic and International Sales Division is to seek creative strategies to position Louisiana as a top-of-the-mind, premier vacation destination. This is accomplished by employing a variety of strategies, including sponsoring events, conducting sales missions, attending trade and consumer shows, conducting familiarization tours, conducting educational seminars, and using tourism activations at events to increase the awareness of Louisiana as a top vacation destination, among other responsibilities.
The Louisiana Office of Tourism's vision is to market and promote the brand of Feed Your Soul, showcasing Louisiana as a travel destination, increasing revenue generated by the tourism industry, and contributing to the economic impact of tourism in all 64 parishes.
The Office of Tourism partners with tourism professionals and industry stakeholders in private and public sectors to extend and enhance their efforts to reach domestic and international consumers and travel trade.

Examples of duties
Three years of experience in tourism, marketing, public relations, or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:
- Track travel trends and visitation numbers to identify consumer/trade events where Louisiana should be present.
- Research potential clients attending tradeshows prior to creating the appointment schedule.
- Manage the planning, organizing, and execution of special events, promotions, activations designed to build and sustain a top-of-mind awareness of Louisiana as a premier tourism destination.
- Manage outgoing/return shipments of trade show booths, booth supplies, rentals, collateral materials with DCRT’s distribution department and third-party vendors.
- Manage CRM database post show/conference to provide to the Louisiana industry partners for follow-up to attract more visitors and to expand new markets into Louisiana.
