Due to continued growth, we are hiring an Automotive Shop Manager at our location in Carol Stream. As an Automotive Shop Manager, your leadership skills will be instrumental in overseeing the efficient operation of our vehicle fleet while delivering top-notch customer service when selling used vehicles. In this multifaceted role, you will manage the maintenance and service needs of our company's vehicles, optimize fleet utilization, and provide crucial support to both drivers and internal/external customers. Primary responsibilities include supervising staff, managing workflow, maintaining inventory, ensuring customer satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Pay Range: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 a yearFactors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position Benefits:

- Supervise and schedule mechanics and support staff.
- Train and evaluate employees.
- Delegate tasks and monitor performance.
- Resolve conflicts and motivate team members.
- Coordinate repair and maintenance work on vehicles.
- Prioritize incoming jobs and assign them based on skill and availability.
- Ensure timely and efficient completion of work.
- Prepare, review and update work orders in NAPA Tracs.
- Ensure profitability and minimize waste/losses.
- Communicate with customers to explain issues and recommend repairs.
- Provide estimates and get approvals.
- Handle complaints and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
- Manage inventory of parts, tools, and fluids.
- Order and receive parts and supplies.
- Track usage and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Keep equipment calibrated and tools in working order.
- Maintain records of vehicle services, repairs, and parts used.
- Submit performance or operational reports to upper management.
- Keep maintenance logs and technician and mechanic timesheets updated.
- Assist mechanics with diagnostics and complex repairs when needed.
- Stay current with advancements in vehicle technology and repair practices.
- Work with vendors for parts, tools, and equipment.
- Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized services or overflow work.
- Past experience supervising and scheduling mechanics.
- Previous experience as a lead mechanic.
- Skilled overseeing repairs and maintenance work.
- Experience with NAPA Tracs software to prepare and update work orders.
