Production QA System Engineer

Qualis Corporation is seeking a Production QA System Engineer to support operations at Schriever SFB, CO.

The Threat Products and Services group is responsible for the development and delivery of high-fidelity threat modeling products in support of MDA and MDA’s Ballistic Missile Defense System. The Production Quality Assurance System Engineer role serves as a missile threat specialist, threat model developer, and threat model verifier and validator of threat representations across the kinematic, RF, and IR signature domains. This specialized position requires a detail-oriented engineer responsible for data verification and validation as it pertains to the representation of a missile threat models for use in a variety of modeling and simulation tools/frameworks/media. Must have a good understanding of modeling and simulation methods and processes. Must be able to research, interpret and verify parameters required to build, replicate, and propagate missile or space launch trajectories. Must be able to apply standard engineering and mathematical algorithms to ensure the accurate portrayal of expected missile or space launch behavioral characteristics during all phases of powered and un-powered flight. The selected individual must be able to work with little or no direct supervision, work as an integral member of a product delivery team and meet time critical delivery schedules.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Aeronautics, Physics, or Math
• Experience: Engineer Systems - 2 Years with Bachelor’s in Science; 0 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
• Modeling, Simulation, and automation experience
• Programming background to include languages such as MATLAB and Python
• Familiarity with the flight characteristics, motion, and performance of missile systems
• Familiarity with hard body heating of objects and their corresponding signature representation
• Must be self-motivated, able to work in a dynamic team environment
• Must already possess an active DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Requirements:

• Strong math, physics or engineering background is preferred
• Previous experience with modeling flight characteristics, motion, atmospheric dynamics, and missile performance parameters of ballistic missiles is highly desirable
• Strong background in missile system engineering performance is highly desirable
• Mastery of engineering modeling principles behind body motion, trajectory generation, counter measures, and debris is a plus
• Experience with or a strong understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies
• Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret Clearance
