Established in the Blue Ridge foothills of North Carolina in 1963, Leonard Truck Outfitters is a manufacturer and distributor whose product lines include storage buildings, cargo and utility trainers, truck covers, truck and van accessories, carports, playhouses, chicken coops, and dog houses. We serve our residential, commercial, fleet, and government customers through our 150+ retail store locations in eighteen states, supported by our corporate offices (in Mount Airy, NC, and Cobden, IL), distribution centers, and strategically located manufacturing facilities.
Job Summary
The Sales Administrator position has operations in the U.S. and has overall responsibility for supporting the daily operations of the retail sales department by coordinating sales documentation, managing order processing, and providing administrative support to ensure efficient store operations and exceptional customer service. This position reports directly to the Store Manager and has no direct reports.
Job Responsibilities
- Processes all retail sales orders accurately and ensure proper documentation and approval routing.
- Supports store managers and sales associates by maintaining up-to-date product pricing, promotional information, and customer records.
- Prepares daily sales reports and assist with monthly sales reconciliations and inventory audits.
- Serves as the liaison between the store and corporate departments (Accounting, HR, and Operations) to resolve billing, payroll, or policy-related questions.
- Monitors open orders, deposits, and pending deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
- Assists with warranty claims, customer refunds, and other post-sale administrative needs.
- Maintains compliance with company policies regarding sales documentation, confidentiality, and cash handling procedures.
- Tracks store supplies, process purchase requests, and support general office operations.
- Assists with training new team members on administrative procedures and systems (e.g., POS, CRM, or ERP tools).
- Provides courteous and professional communication to both internal and external customers.

Education/Experience Requirements
- Must be able to PASS a background and a drug test.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail administration, sales support, or office coordination (experience in the building materials, truck accessories, or automotive industry preferred).
- Experience using POS systems, ERP databases, or customer relationship management (CRM) tools strongly desired.
Travel
This position requires no travel within the United States.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing administrative tasks.
- Frequently operates a computer, telephone, and standard office equipment.
- Occasionally required to lift and move up to 20 pounds (e.g., files, binders, or product samples).
- May need to walk the sales lot or warehouse to verify product or order details.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via email.
