The Boeing Company seeks a Product Security Test Engineer to support the Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) cyber test capability. The selected applicant will join a highly technical Enterprise Test & Evaluation team building an offensive cyber test capability in Berkeley, Missouri.
This position will be providing testing services to Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) in the Air Dominance and Weapons Systems portfolios. The primary responsibilities will include Product Security (Cyber) test planning, integration, and execution, mission-based risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests. The Selected applicant will become a St. Louis team member trained across the broader BT&E enterprise Product Security Capability team with the opportunity to also contribute in innovation efforts advancing adversarial testing.
Primary responsibilities:
Technical leader responsible for the implementation of Product Security Test & Evaluation Engineering Mission/Operational based cyber testing across the BDS St. Louis portfolio. The Product Security Test Engineer position is a key contributor in leading, testing and coordinating cyber testing to assess mission/product resiliency in the following areas:
Ability to facilitate and manage complex Product Security projects from inception to completion (throughout the entire Product Security test lifecycle) to include St. Louis site integrated Test support planning, resourcing of plan, meeting cost and schedule commitments
Technical Leader integrated within a Product Security Test & Evaluation Team capable of:
Developing/executing Product Security test plans and activities (penetration testing, cooperative and non-cooperative vulnerability testing, adversarial analysis and testing, cyber table top exercises (use cases), and advanced virtual/emulated testing) throughout the maturation of program life-cycle
Performing criticality, adversity, threat, and risk analysis on complex, system of systems environments
Coordinating collaborative testing to assess mitigating controls and design elements
Innovating/implementing solutions for improved T&E capability, including utilizing virtualized systems for Product Security assessment
Utilize the Risk Engineering digital thread to inform future requirements surrounding cyber survivability of the platform against specified cyber threats
Leading risk reduction, to potentially include research and development activities, resulting in innovative solutions for implementation in product and services offering.
Develop and mature enterprise Product Security T&E best practices and solutions
Provide advocacy for the integration of cyber test events throughout the gated process
Ability to identify new opportunities and engage with stakeholders to define, plan, resource, and deliver Cyber T&E solutions
In addition to the specific program responsibilities, the selected candidates will be joining the growing BT&E Product Security Engineering Capability with established teams in Seattle, Huntsville, and SoCal.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced and Senior Level Engineers.
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires current US Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
5+ years of experience leading avionics embedded systems projects or programs
3+ years of experience in Product Security (i.e. non-IT Cybersecurity)
1+ years of experience performing penetration testing or building Product Security test environments and custom cyber test tools
Desired Skills/Experiences:
Demonstrated ability to identify new opportunities and engage with stakeholders to define/plan/resource/deliver solutions
Experience interfacing with DoD organizations as a program lead
Experience performing mission-based cyber risk ass
