Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Mission System’s Engineering and Sciences (E&S) Baltimore and Partnered Sites (BaPs) organization is seeking a Systems Engineering Execution Lead for our F-35 Programs. This leader will be responsible for Engineering program execution within two Tactical Fighters Business Unit Operating Units (OU): F-35 Sensor Production & Development OU and Growth & Sustainment OU. The position will lead a cross functional team of Chief Engineers, Engineering Program Managers, System Architects, and/or SEIT Leads overseeing the programs in these OUs. This role will be accountable for technical performance, staffing, root cause analysis, engineering metrics, process rigor, proposal support and sign off, and earned value management oversight for all programs within the portfolio. This full time, on site role is based in Baltimore, MD, and reports directly to the Tactical Fighters Engineering Execution Director.
What You’ll Get to Do:
The individual will be responsible for technical execution, technology development strategies, and programmatic coordination across the OU in addition to:
Oversee Engineering Leaders with responsibilities for all aspects of Engineering execution across all programs in the Operating Units
Partner with Operating Unit Director, Program Directors, and Program Managers on Engineering performance on programs
Provide situational awareness to Engineering leadership on team and program performance
Facilitate regular Program Engineering Reviews tracking milestone progress, cost and schedule performance, risks and opportunities, issue resolution, staffing, engineering metrics, and team morale
Work with program teams to define staffing needs and interface with functional departments to secure team staffing
Support proposal development and review for new program acquisition efforts
Review predictive metrics and Comprehensive Estimates at Completion with team ensuring predictable performance to plan
Own the performance management process, compensation planning, talent development, and continuous improvement of direct reports
Facilitate program leadership recognition and feedback into the Engineering Discipline on Engineering team members
Partner with peer functional leaders including Business Management, Global Supply Chain, Mission Assurance, and Operations to ensure cross-functional collaboration for program performance
Lead or support Engineering/Business initiatives, cross-campus/sector involvement, and/or internal investment projects
This position is contingent upon the successful transfer of an active U.S Government Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience, a Master's degree with 8 years of experience, or a PhD with 6 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or other related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Active U.S Government Secret Clearance
Experience as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, Technical lead, or other leadership role in a program office or business function with demonstrated team building, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of staffing and engineering metrics, processes, and tools.
Experience with developing and executing project schedules.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields.
Active U.S Government Top Secret Clearance.
Experience in engineering functional management including pers
