About the role

As an Architect, you will play a critical role in managing the infrastructure and processes that underpin OCI Strategic Customers. You will be part of a team that will bring maturation to customer relationships. This role will require you to develop and implement new processes that may be OCI wide. You will establish strong relationships with strategic customers and peers across OCI. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing our infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.


 

  • Own and drive architecture best practices throughout our customers and Oracle.
  • Ability to think through the solution and identify/document potential issues impacting your customers.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in cloud infrastructure and evaluate their potential impact on our systems and workflows.
  • Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure maintainability.
  • Participate in service affecting incidents to ensure rapid remediation. Owning root cause analysis and corrective action items and seeing these through to conclusion.
  • Act as the trusted technical advisor to customers, partners, and Oracle sales organizations.
  • Define new processes and procedures to limit and mitigate risk during changes, and act as the Strategic Customers technical advocate when working with engineering teams to improve change management for OCI.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in networking technologies, including BGP, VXLAN, MPLS, EVPN, and SDN, to diagnose and resolve complex networking issues.
  • Alternate expertise in cloud services such as compute, storage will also be considered in lieu of networking.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major network incidents, working with service teams to drive permanent fixes and long-term optimizations.
  • Perform detailed network performance analysis, including packet captures, latency measurements, and congestion modeling, to enhance network efficiency.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand their networking requirements, design optimized solutions and ensure seamless integration with OCI’s network infrastructure.
  • Advise customers on multi-cloud connectivity, hybrid networking, inter-region routing, and private connectivity strategies.
  • Work closely with customer engineering teams to troubleshoot connectivity, latency, or throughput issues and provide tailored recommendations.
  • Develop network growth models by analyzing customer usage patterns, projected traffic spikes, and infrastructure scaling needs.
  • Drive network capacity augmentation efforts across OCI, ensuring proactive upgrades to backbone links, PNIs, and data center interconnects.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
