About the role

Job Summary: 

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager assists in oversight of Quality and Compliance functions within the organization for dietary supplement, food, and personal care products manufactured by contract manufacturers. Helps to develop and implements robust quality management systems, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and promoting a culture of quality and compliance across all departments. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance product integrity and ensures operational quality to maintain availability of high-quality product flow to iHerb customers. The ideal candidate will have understanding of the food and dietary supplement industry’s regulatory environment, including 21 CFR 111 & 117 and experience in QA/QC processes, and shares our commitment to produce high-quality and safe wellness products to customers. Job Expectations:

  • Quality Management:  Assist to implement QMS that aligns with industry standards and regulatory requirements. 
  • Compliance Oversight: Assist to ensure organizational compliance with applicable regulations and standards; assists in leading internal audits and inspections.
  • Policy Development: Assist to create and maintain quality and compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to quality compliance; performs root cause analyses and implements corrective action plans. 
  • Customer Care & Feedback Management: Maintain structured feedback loop with Customer Service to gather insights on potential quality and compliance issues and address/investigate them proactively. 
  • Training and Education: Assists in training to educate staff on quality standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Performance Monitoring: Assists in preparing metrics for senior management. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Regulatory Affairs (RA), Product Development (PD), co-manufacturers, and operational teams to integrate quality and compliance into all aspects of product development and production. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Assist to drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency; assist to foster a culture of quality awareness and accountability. 
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a primary point of contact for quality and compliance matters; communicate effectively with regulatory agencies, external auditors, and internal stakeholders.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:         

  • Experience with developing/documenting procedures.
  • High proficiency of Quality Control methods in inspection
  • Quality orientation and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working with high performance teams
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution skills
  • Computer proficiency

 

Equipment Knowledge:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred

 

Experience Requirements:

  • Generally requires a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years related experience with three (3)  to five (5) years of supervisory experience required. 
  • Must be experienced in QC and cGMP compliance procedures.

 

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., QA/QC, Regulatory, Quality R&D/PD, Life Sciences); 
  • Master’s Degree preferred.

The anticipated pay scale for this position can be found below, however the pay range applicable to you may vary by geographic location based on where the job is located or where you work.  The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc.  iHerb, LLC is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations.
