SUMMARY The Purchasing Supervisor will be responsible for ordering and receiving all orders to ensure proper intake of items ordered and storage of those shipments. This role will contribute to the organization as an active business partner that is responsible for supporting the company's goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMajor areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to:- Receives various orders either non-consumable or Food & Beverage, checks for quantity, quality, breakage and compares packing lists and invoices with Purchase Orders.
- Directs deliveries to various departments and/or individuals on a pre-set delivery schedule.
- Receives all incoming package deliveries from UPS, FedEx, DHL, Golden State Overnight, etc and records incoming appropriately and accurately.
- Verify named receiving individuals or guest via the Opera system.
- Processes all outgoing shipping and post all charges within the Opera system.
- Produce quick and accurate quotations to clients’ inquiries.
- Manage the purchasing and inventory activities of the company.
- Direct & coordinate the procurement goods, supplies & services essential to the supplies operations.
- Assist with Negotiating prices, delivery terms with our manufacturers and suppliers.
- Issue purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure all closing duties are completed
- Responsible for the training of new hires and consistent development of the team.
- Ensure Loading dock and receiving areas are kept secure, clean and organized.
- Operate forklift as needed
- Perform other functions as needed.
- Minimum 2 years’ purchasing experience, including Food & Beverage purchases
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Must possess intermediate computer skills
- Previous shipping and receiving experience
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Forklift certification
