Your Role:

The Director, Field Access, West, Rare Tumor (RT) will play a vital role in helping patients and healthcare providers gain access to life changing therapies as well as help drive key initiatives to contribute to a High Impact Culture within the FAM team. With intense passion for helping patients, the West Director, Field Access represents EMD Serono by gaining a deep understanding of specific patient journeys to ensure a positive patient experience to EMD Serono’s products and services.

 

This is a field-based position overseeing the West regional team of Field Access Managers (FAMs), providing strategic direction, operational oversight, and performance management for the EMDS Rare Tumor inline products, and other potential launches in this therapeutic area. This role will have significant market impact on patient access and is considered critical to ensure positive experiences – both patient and customer – with EMDS since timely treatment, unencumbered drug coverage and proper distribution is critical to both patients and practice operations.

 

The Director, Field Access, West, RT will work within a matrix environment, leading a regional team of Field Access Managers to ensure the team provides appropriate education through a focused effort on healthcare providers in community, institutional, and academic medical settings as well as collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure optimized patient access. This position reports to the Senior Director, Head of Field Patient Services.

Internal Within EMD Serono: Dynamic matrix environment within the EMD Serono and Springworks functions: Market Access/Value & Access, Patient Access Solutions (PAS), US Brand Sales and Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Government Affairs, Drug Safety, Finance, IT, Compliance, Medical, Legal and Regulatory Panel (MLR), Field Access Managers, HUB Services (internal and/or external), Training, Human Resources Supply Chain and Procurement, Data, Analytics, and Insights /Operational Excellence and Innovation (OE&I), Facilities

 

External To EMD Serono: Healthcare Providers (HCPs)

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Oversight:
    • Lead a team of Field Access Managers (FAMs), driving initiatives to foster a High Impact Culture.
    • Build and oversee key initiatives to improve the efficiency and impact of the FAM team with East counterpart
    • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in the Rare Tumor community to address complex access and reimbursement challenges affecting patient journeys.
  •  Strategic Input and Collaboration
    • Set strategic goals, KPIs, and coaching plans; translate market insights into actionable patient access strategies across payer, provider, and patient pathways, aligning with leadership and based on brand and PAS priorities
    • Design and implement innovative market access programs and services that address patient needs and elevate the support experience.
    • Serve as a key member of Field Access leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and cross-functional alignment.
