Want to join an AMAZING organization with a mission of building girls of COURAGE, CONFIDENCE, and CHARACTER who make the world a better place? Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal pines is hiring a full-time Property Assistant at Camp Mary Atkinson in Selma, NC. 


The Property Assistant provides maintenance, repairs, groundskeeping, lawncare and landscaping for their assigned property and may assist with the maintenance of other properties as requested. The Property Assistant works to ensure troop, day and resident campers have a safe camp property, facilities, and equipment. This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week.


This position does not require the incumbent to live on-site. 

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to maintain a current NC driver’s license.
  • Good communication, time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and a team player.
  • Small equipment operations required.
  • Must have excellent customer relations skills and the ability to interact with volunteers and staff.
  • May work weekends and some holidays.
  • Occasional travel and overnight stay at other properties. 
  • Commitment to GSNCCP and GSUSA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Racial Justice (DEI/RJ) initiatives. 
  • Must be willing to obtain a GSUSA membership upon employment 


Physical Demands:

Must be able to drive vehicles and equipment on and off camp property, to walk at least a mile on uneven or sandy terrain, speak and hear on the phone and in person, and to read printed matter. Must have good hand and finger dexterity and understandable speech. Must be able to move, lift and carry up to 50 lb; to see in dimly lit areas (under buildings and with a flashlight), and to operate equipment and tools. Subjected periodically to bleach, latex, pollen, dust, pesticides, and herbicides.


Work Environment:

Most of the work is isolated. The work is year-round in and out of doors and is subject to weather extremes. The noise level may be high when operating equipment. Travel to remote locations, other camps, or council service centers may be required to perform duties of this position and as assigned.
