Job Summary: 

The Communications Coordinator ensures the website is up-to-date, crafts visually compelling content, supports statewide programs, develops a comprehensive communication strategy for diverse stakeholders, from government officials to refugee communities. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee, create, and maintain TOR's external communications and communication platforms.
• Update and maintain TOR's website to ensure relevant and timely information is accessible to the public.
• Support statewide programs by developing content and visual design elements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and insights for communication materials.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy.
• Pilot using new technologies to reach a wider audience.
• Actively participate in supervision sessions, periodic team meetings, and training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Proven experience working in a communications, preferably in the non-profit.
• Demonstrated experience in updating and maintaining websites.

Required Skills:

• Proven proficiency in social media management, content creation, and SEO optimization.
• Advanced graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe InDesign, with a showcased portfolio.
• Experience in crisis communication and swift response to unforeseen events.
• Effective market research skills, staying current with communication trends, audience modality preferences, and sector strategies.
• Strong storytelling abilities for diverse audiences, coupled with direct marketing expertise.
• Bilingual proficiency in a language relevant to refugee populations in Tennessee is advantageous.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, integrating these principles into communication practices.
• Willingness to participate in community events to enhance TOR's visibility and network.
• Ability to learn databases and other systems, such as Asana.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
