Job Description

Primary Purpose:
Norfolk Southern is seeking a motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented candidate to join our team as the Deductions Supervisor in Payroll Accounting. The candidate will oversee our deduction processes and supervise members of our clerical staff.  A successful candidate is organized, enjoys learning, and has a genuine interest in process improvement.    

 

Principal Duties:

• Oversee several payroll deduction processes ensuring timely and accurate processing including but not limited to:
  • 401k
  • Craft Health and Welfare
  • Union dues
• File mistakes of fact and health and welfare adjustments as needed.
• Review general ledger accounts for accuracy.
• Supervise clerical staff assisting with questions and day-to-day oversight.
• Execute off-cycle payroll runs. 

 

Job Related Experience:
Minimum Level: 3-5 years

 

Education:
Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree (Any)

 

Preferred Majors:

• Accounting
• Banking and Finance - Finance
• Business

 

Technical Skills:

• MS office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• SAP
